Full-Stack Platform Engineer (Contract)

About the role

You are the primary builder. Working from the architecture and roadmap set by the Technical Lead, you provision the environments, build the modules, wire the integrations, and ship the platform. This is a hands-on engineering role with significant ownership — you'll be the person who actually makes the system exist.

What you'll do

• Provision development, staging, and production environments
• Build the core data schema and modules: program catalog, volunteer/community management, donor CRM, operations, finance, knowledge base
• Implement role-based access control across all functions
• Build the integration layer to the client's existing tools (accounting, donor platform, internal databases)
• Implement the multi-modal ingestion pipeline (written, voice, WhatsApp, video, multilingual) with a standardization layer
• Build the AI agent layer: automated briefings, message parsing, workflow automation, decision support
• Implement structured export / API access so data portability is guaranteed from day one
• Build offline / low-connectivity tolerance into field-facing modules
• Work closely with the Technical Lead; flag risks early and keep delivery on the milestone schedule

What we're looking for

Required

• 5+ years building production full-stack web applications end to end
• Strong across a modern stack (frontend, backend, database) and comfortable owning features from schema to UI
• Experience with multi-tenant architecture, API design, third-party integrations, and authentication/permissioning
• Practical AI/LLM integration experience (agents, automation, transcription/translation)
• Self-directed and reliable; able to take an architecture and run with it

Strong pluses

• Experience building for low-connectivity / offline-tolerant field use
• Multilingual systems experience (Arabic, Urdu, Spanish, Farsi, Bengali a plus given the constituent base)
• Nonprofit or mission-driven product experience
